We are so pleased to launch our remarkable, award-winning Extended School Day Enrichment programme for 2020/21.
Our Year 11 students already benefit from lessons till 4pm each day, supporting their learning and future success better than any other school in the city.
Now we begin our programme for Year 7 to Year 10 students who will benefit from 2+ compulsory enrichment sessions (taught in year group specific bubbles this year).
This means all students do:
1. An academic enrichment session (Online study club to support homework or English/Maths catch-up for those needing extra support)
2. A favourite enrichment activity that they choose (sport, music, performance, art & many more)
If students want to do even more clubs, that is their choice and what a wonderful choice to have. Below you can see the Year 7 & Year 8 current choices
Our pilot year of Extended Day Enrichment with Year 7 led to improved attendance and attitude to learning, particularly for boys. Our Year 7 students also achieved their highest ever English, Maths and Science Stop the Clock test results. Our students earned more Children's University Credits than ever before with Year 7 students having 5764 more hours of enrichment participation in spite of lockdown, highlighting the breadth of our curriculum. As a result we were HIGHLY COMMENDED in the category of SECONDARY SCHOOL TARGETED PROJECT at the Sheffield Schools Active Awards 2020 and received positive local media coverage.
Here is some amazing examples of what our extended enrichment offer looked like last year.
We are immensely proud of all the hard work that we put in last year and have gone above and beyond to create an equally amazing offer this year whilst keeping all of our Firth Park family safe in the current Covid-19 environment.
