KS3 Overview

At KS3 students learn according to a set of units, this means students are exposed to a wide range of scientific disciplines within their first few years at school. For example, gaining an understanding of the particle model of matter, cells and energy, are some of the earliest topics studied and form a basis to build further scientific knowledge. Throughout the units, a variety of investigative and ‘working scientifically’ skills are embedded to get students not only knowing the content, but also starting to think like scientists. Furthermore students will be able to think more critically about the world around them, by linking the ideas and concepts shared in class, with why certain things in the world happen, for example, why does a smell move across a room?
