KS3 Overview

At Key Stage 3 students are made aware of and make links between 4 key topics; Performance, Leadership, Sports Analysis, Health and Fitness. The focus of the curriculum is practical performance that the other 3 strands can be delivered through. Sporting performance is still be the main area for Physical Education and is delivered through specific sports that take advantage of the schools varied facilities. Pupils work towards achieving Age Related Expectations linked to the 4 key topic areas. These topics can be interrelated to encourage students to make connections between personal fitness and a healthy, active, lifestyle. The aim is for all concepts to be taught through a practical setting/environment with limited paperwork, in order to support students being physically active for sustained periods of time.
