Purpose: help students learn to be creative within the parameters given.
Requirements: name in font of choice, cover ⅓ of portfolio with assigned design
Challenge: students may reproduce work they see online, or try to apply the patterning in Pacific NW Native American Art to objects/animals that symbolize something in their own life.
Content:
Artistic Process: research, brainstorming, prototyping, drafting, executing, problem solving/trouble shooting.
Composition: create balance, and lead the viewer’s eye
Drawing: planning space within a piece; blocking out before adding detail; using points of reference, proportion, and measuring within a piece to build accuracy
Communication: symbolism in Art
