7th/8th grade ARt Club

December project:

In December, there will be two opportunities to attend a session with a professional cake decorator. At the decorating event, each of you will receive a 4" cake, use of decorating supplies and tools, a lesson on decorating cakes, a practice sheet to use before you decorate your cake, and a box to put your decorated cake in to take home.

I will cover a portion of the cost through the Art Club budget, but each person will need to pay $10 to attend. I have spots for 15 people on each date, so the first 30 people to bring in their money will be part of the fun. If $10 is a financial hardship for your family, please come and talk to me and we will figure something out. The dates for decorating are December 4 and December 18. Indicate which date you want to come when you turn your money in to me.

February cookies: On February 19 you will have an opportunity to be part of a cookie decorating session. Get excited to learn new decorating skills! A live demonstration of each skill will be performed and students will be able to test out their new skills! We will discuss the basics of sugar cookies, including baking tips, mixing icing, icing consistency, filling bags, piping, flooding and wet-on-wet technique. Each participant will leave with a dozen fully decorated cookies.
