sketch went well with the bird: simplify to basic shape, measure, plumb lines. Need to continue practicing throughout course

another tip: make sure you are using a photo you can handle--googling cartoon versions simplifies things into contour line drawings

kids find reference photo for each item and save in camera roll, use at the end to create a moodboard
