What is AVID?

Spotlight on our Students

Watch this video to see and hear students describe their experiences and successes with AVID. Teachers and administrators, from elementary through college/university level, describe their experiences with AVID and how they help students along their pathways to college and career.

News from the AVID District Office

Grant

Bloomington's AVID Program has been selected to receive a $1,000.00 grant from The Walmart Foundation! This will help fund things like bus fees for trips to college campuses, family nights, and celebrations for student accomplishments.

The Walmart Foundation Says:

"We believe that your organization is doing important work to the communities you serve, and we are proud that we are able to support you in your efforts."

Telling the AVID Story

What's the news from your AVID site? What success stories can you share? Do you have videos, photos or samples of students using WICOR (Writing, Inquiry, Collaboration, Organization, Reading) strategies?

We're collecting evidence like this to help spread the word and "tell the AVID story". Please bring items to share with your site team and email them to Kelly Killorn. In next month's newsletter, your picture/story/artifact may be featured in "Spotlight on Students"
