Spotlight on AVID
Valley View Elementary 5th Graders
at Richardson Nature Center
The 5th graders at VVE have been using AVID note-taking skills to learn about Native Americans. As one component of this learning, they attended a field trip to Richardson Nature Center to get some hands-on experience with life on the plains.
Valley View Middle 8th Graders Visit Kennedy High School
Eighth grade AVID students spent the day observing tutorials, attending classes with 9th/10th grade AVID peers, learning about courses and activities available for KHS students, and taking Cornell Notes over a panel of 11th grade AVID students sharing their experiences with KHS AVID.
AVID Booth at Valley View Middle School's Showcase
Current 4th and 5th graders had an opportunity to visit Valley View Middle on Tuesday, October 28 to learn more about the school, including information about AVID!

Elementary:
Students can take 2- or 3-column notes on the major events that occurred during the marine mammal response team’s rescue, using the dates from the graphic to guide their note-taking process.
Secondary:
