Uploading Grades

See Faculty Grade Entry Instructions from the Registrar's Office for detailed instructions and screenshots. Here's a quick summary:

To upload your semester grades for the classes you're teaching:

Here's what it looks like:

If you assign a grade of "F" or "UW" you will also need to fill in the date of last attendance. If it's an online class, use the last time they submitted an assignment or interacted with the class. To find this, click "People" in your Canvas class, click on the person's name, then click on their name again on the side panel that opened up, then click the "Access Report" button to see a report of when they last interacted with the class.

Note: Entered grades become permanent overnight in the early morning. Once you enter a grade, it gets entered on the student's permanent academic transcript that night. (As indicated by the "Rolled" column.) Once that happens, the only way to change a grade is to fill out a Grade Change Form.

If you don't see your class listed, you might not yet be listed as the instructor. Check the class schedule and if the instructor is still listed as "TBA," or if someone else is listed, you'll need to have your department email course.scheduler@biola.edu with the CRN and your ID number so Registrar's Office can assign you to the class.

Click "Save" every few minutes to save your work. When you're finished, just click "Save" (it will stay on the same page, but the grades will have been submitted).

Note: There is now a way to upload grades in bulk. Summary: (1) click the gear symbol, choose "Export Template," (2) Edit the grades in the Excel sheet, then (3) click the gear symbol then "Import" to save them.
