Your mission while investigating the office is to gather a better understanding of individuals with emotional behavioral disorders (EBD). Students with EBDs tend to be the students that no one really wants to work with due to the challenging nature of their behaviors. Through working directly with students with EBDs, they are consciously aware of this...which sometimes fuels why they act the way they do. Not all students with EBD act out....sometimes they act in (meaning they internalize their feelings) and thus often get their needs overlooked. As you investigate Chapter 8, notice some of the difficulties in getting diagnosed as EBD as well as the interventions that can be put in place.
