Directions: In Chapter 13, we learn about students with physical differences, health impairments, and severe/multiple disabilities. Although these populations of individuals are small in the American population, they still deserve to have access to the world around them. The Americans with Disabilities Act (we learned about back in Chapter 2) extends the civil rights of persons with disabilities.
This means that physical places need to be accessible to all. It's why you may have encountered grooves in the sidewalk near the cross walk. You may noticed that classrooms have Braille or that traffic lights now talk when the lights are green vs. red. Ramps need to be designed with a specific angle in order to be handicap accessible. What I want you to do is to get creative. Using any medium you like (except photographs), build me a building with at least 1 accessibility point for individuals with disabilities.
