About Your Professor

Dr. Gwendolyn Deger

I am the Assistant Professor of Special Education here at Westminster College. I got my PhD from Penn State University back in 2021. I am one of 11 brothers & sisters. I have two siblings with Down Syndrome and a daughter who has a mild hearing impairment. They have been my inspiration for my passion in working with students with neurodivergent or physical divergent needs.

One of my favorite things to do in my free time is play games. It can be board games or video games. Did you know that previous research has shown that playing games for as little as 30 mins can help build problem solving, collaboration and teamwork, and resiliency skills?!
