The Band Room

Welcome to the second to last room! This room we are learning all about how powerful our visual sense is and how losing that sense can be very challenging. I know you all haven't seen my face too much, but without my contacts...my world is extremely blurry. I can only see about five inches beyond my face before it becomes blurry. Corrective lenses have been a huge tool to help me be more included in the regular education environment, but what about those who that doesn't even help?

Blindness and visual impairments have huge impacts not just academically but on safely navigating the world around them. As you read chapter 12, you will learn about the trepidation that both the individual and their families face because of that loss of sight. We will learn about accommodations that we can provide to help enhance the learning for those with visual impairments. We will also pursue quests that will help us utilize our other senses to improve our understanding.

Directions: Explore the Sensory Room to locate the quests. Look for things that appear out of place. Hint: They are hyperlinks on the slides.
