The Art Room

Welcome to the Art Room! The art room is a wonderful opportunity to see all the beauty of things that we can create. It is also an area where students can explore trying new things that they otherwise would not do in a typical classroom. It is also a place where you can find unique ways to solve problems.

Students with special gifts and talents are exceptional students because the deviate from the average or the norm. Students with special gifts and talents typically have an above average intelligence approximately 130 or higher on an IQ test...however that does not need to be the only way.

Howard Gardner created a theoretical model of multiple intelligences indicating everyone has different gifts in multiple areas beyond just the academics. Using this model, more students can be challenged to use those strengths to help identify and solve real-world problems in unique ways.

As a special educator, I always planned challenge opportunities for my early finishers. This was because my students who were gifted needed the opportunity to be challenged and because my early finishers were not always the same from task to task.

Directions: Explore the Sensory Room to locate the quests. Look for things that appear out of place. Hint: They are hyperlinks on the slides.
