Spring NWEA Test Results Show Significant Growth

DISHS just wrapped up its spring administration of the NWEA test for reading, language usage, and math.  The results showed substantial growth in all three subject areas in all grades.  There are significantly more students working at or above grade level in all three subjects compared to both last spring and earlier this school year.  Additionally, there are fewer students working significantly below grade level.

Improving student literacy and numeracy skills has been an area of focus at the high school for the last several years and our improvement plans are beginning to show results.  A much deserved round of appreciation goes to all of the teachers and staff at DISHS who have worked very hard to raise expectations for student learning and provide learning opportunities that are producing positive results.
