Each year, the DISHS Cheerleaders collect pennies as part of a service project to benefit children who will be spending the holiday season in the hospital.  This year, the team raised nearly $1,200 to make stuffed animals at Build-a-Bear Workshop, which the team then gave to the children's unit at Eastern Maine Medical Center.  The squad also performed a special cheer for the children at the hospital, brightening their spirits at what can often be a difficult time of year.  The cheerleaders generous spirit is an example of the sense of community that makes DISHS and the coastal communities it serves special.
