Converse Shoe Drawings

As an introduction to gridding and the completion of our Tonal Drawing Unit, grade 9 students were asked to complete the Converse Shoe Drawing. This complex drawing challenges the young artist's understanding of light and shade. Student's are asked to see what is often invisible to most, in the lines and tones of the work. The results of this "vision" are astounding...shoes we could really take a walk in. (lol)
