My art piece is called puppet on a string. It's about being manipulated and trapped. The red strings represent being bound or tied down while whispers keep you weak and unable to escape. The smile representing irony, you suffer while seeing such a simple representation of happiness telling you to smile. The music discs are prized possessions, symphonies that hold some of the worst and best memories. The medium I used is acrylic. To create my art piece I had to blend a lot and keep laying colours on top of each other so there would be a nice range of colours. It is inspired by a storyline that I really like. In this story a young boy is just trying to have fun with his friends but it all goes downhill when everyone gets greedy for power and he is the one who has to fix everything in the end. He has to carry the weight of the world on his shoulders while it becomes heavier and heavier. The emotion I wanted to show in this was fear, a false sense of safety, mainly dark emotions. That's why I used dark colors mixed with very vibrant and bright colors so the change in contrast was visible. I didn't have a goal for this art piece because I don't really have any goals for my art. I just paint about the things I enjoy that way I can always appreciate it. The final product is how I imagined it would look, the concept and the way everything is organized on the canvas is the way I pictured. When I have an idea I tend to stick to it, sometimes there will be minor changes but the idea and overall picture stays the same.
