Hope

Acrylic paint, 16x20in, March 31

The painting ‘Hope’ that I drew, represents me and the people around me need more hope during this time and how many people during the pandemic have been feeling sad and colourless due to Covid-19 and how people are only acknowledging the negative in the world. The burst of colour signifies how they need to look for positivity even if there is a lot of negativity. I've painted a grayscale acrylic portrait with a burst of complementary colours around. There is a lot of value and texture put into the art. i started by painting the background using a sponge, the i started on her hair using a medium dark grey tone then later added darker and lighter shades to add depth. Then i used a medium light grey tone as her skin and later added value and i made her eyes green like mine. The goal of my painting is for people to know that there is always a positive side of situations and even if they are feeling down there is always hope.
