Flower Girl

In my Acrylic painting, Flower Girl, one can see a prominent use of blending, texture, pattern and unity. However, I’d say the overall piece looks smooth and warm. To create Flower Girl, I was heavily inspired by Tyler The Creator’s album “Flower Boy”. The cover and the music within the album majorly influenced my art. Oftentimes, I feel like I want to run away to some place, somehow leave my life behind and not take my worries with me. With that being said, “Flower Boy” is where I’d want to go, my painting portrays where exactly I want to run away to, I wanted to make sure to show how simple life seems inside my painting. In addition to that, to help achieve this, I used various paint brushes with many mixtures of acrylic paint. And to help blend I used clean brushes and altered the colours over one another. Furthermore, I’m definitely not comfortable with acrylics, graphite comes a lot easier to me, hence why completing this piece was a huge accomplishment in my books. The truth is, the final piece isn’t exactly how I imagined it at first, but I’m very satisfied with the final product. And even if I wasn’t, I’d still consider this as a success due to my learning experience. I learned patience in creating this, when I tried to rush things they turned out sloppy, however when I took my time and planned things out, they seemed to work well!
