Introduction

Hear the words from Maya Angelou's poem "Life Doesn't Frighten Me" along with the paintings of Jean Michel Basquiat. 

Procedure

Watch the videos and study the examples.

Create a powerful T REX in the free style of Basquiat.

1. Using the drawing handouts, Draw a VERY LARGE T REX and fill up your page. Outline in black ink.

2. Paint your T REX and background with watercolors. Start with yellow, then pink, red, blue and finally purple. Don't paint over your colors and don't over blend them. You will just make a dark brown.

3. Use oil pastels and add different types of marks and color to  your T REX. You are adding color but not over coloring the work.

4. Cut out a gold crown and glue on the top of your T REX's head.
