Applying Survivor "Right-Hand Fix"
Mysteriously, when compiling a survivor for L4D2, a survivor's right hand appears warped in-game or in HLMV. The only know workaround is to move the "ValveBiped.weapon_bone" to the same position as its parent bone, ""ValveBiped.Bip01_R_Hand"". The following explains one method for applying this fix.
Steps:
In the nodes section of the reference smd, find the line with the bone name of "ValveBiped.weapon_bone". An example line: 49 "ValveBiped.weapon_bone"Â 33
The first number on the line is the bone index. In the example, 49 is the index.
In the same smd file, in the skeleton section (next after nodes section), find that index number as first number in the line. An example line: 49 2.856897 -1.536201 -0.973802 -1.501147 -0.272558 -1.578261
Replace each of the 2nd through 4th numbers in the found line with a zero. For example, change the example found line to: 49 0 0 0 -1.501147 -0.272558 -1.578261
