Take Screenshot of Survivor in HLMV

• 1. Select the replacement model.

  2. Load weapon: w_models\weapons\w_pistol_a_dual.mdl

  3. Select this animation in Sequence tab: ACT_IDLE_INCAP_ELITES

  4. Center the model, keeping whole body in view.

  5. Take screenshot (i.e. copy to clipboard): Alt-PrtScn

Edit Screenshot in Paint.Net

• 1. Open Paint.Net

  2. Edit > Paste as New Image

  3. Crop to just the character:

     1. Use Tool > Magic Wand to select the grey background:

        1. Selection mode: Replace

        2. Flood Mode: (whatever is easier and accurate)

        3. Tolerance: 0%

     2. Edit > Invert Selection

     3. Image > Crop to Selection

  4. Image > Resize to fit 160 pixel width.

  5. Adjustments > Black and White

  6. Image > Flip Horizontal

Paste into "Top" Layer of Template Paint.Net File

• 1. Open the provided template file in a new tab in Paint.Net.

  2. Open the Layers window and only checkmark the "Top" layer.

  3. Make sure the "Top" layer is selected in Layers window.

  4. Select All

  5. Erase selection.

  6. Copy the incap image.

  7. Paste the incap image into "Top" layer of the template image.

  8. Save the new file with appropriate name and type (vtf).
