Excelling - The school has an established STEM Advisory Council with partners representing all the following areas: (a) district representation, (b) higher education, (c) business organization/partner, (d) parents (e) students. A self-assessment protocol has been established and implemented utilizing the sustainability plan created after the certification visit by the DOE. The advisory council meets regularly and aids in building program sustainability. Evidence of policies and procedures for the selection and function of the STEM Advisory Council exist and are published or publicly available.

Council member Robin Morrow from the County Office visited WES to discuss our progress toward GaDOE STEM certification. During the visit, a new Artifact document was introduced, and we collaborated on strategies to complete it successfully.

Council member and WES grandparent, Lynn Bagwell, joined the discussion on ways to become more involved in our STEM journey. Together, we explored her important role in supporting our school’s sustainability and garden initiatives, as well as how she will contribute moving forward.
