Excelling- All students are exposed regularly to STEM/STEAM focused careers. A plan is in place with a focus on exposing students to nontraditional STEM/STEAM careers through community partnerships and community needs.
White Elementary provides opportunities for students to see how STEM is involved in a variety of careers and professions. From the Master Gardeners at the UGA Extension office to bakers, engineers and meteorologists, our students are exposed to a variety of real-world experiences that show us STEM is found in all types of career paths.
With our STEM initiatives, classroom teachers and students build relationships with community members and business partners to help STEM learning come alive in the classroom. Students are using critical thinking skills and problem solving to learn about various non-traditional careers they may consider later in life.
AG Day 2025
All students participated in our 2025 Ag Day! We worked with the local Farm Bureau office and Mrs. Lynn Bagwell to coordinate the AG Mobile and local farmers joining us for a day of agriculture education. Students in grades 3-5 participated in the AG Mobile rotations and took a quiz to determine the best career in agriculture for them. K-2 students met with local farmers to learn about caring for a variety of animals and participated in the pollinator census in our gardens.
