First, they hypothesized what would happen and sorted the items based on if they would sink or float. While looking at items, they were asked to count the number of items for each category.

“How can we keep the jeep from sinking?”
Students reviewed the concepts of sink and float and counting within 10 by creating a road made of "mud" (jello) that a car could not sink into.

Students observed similarities and differences between parents and offspring while finding shapes in animals. Ipads were used to research and journaling the details.
