This is a Kindergarten journal from the beginning of their PBL for this year. They are using their 5 senses to explore the garden. They are beginning by creating a rock garden and designing rocks that can be used during center time.

Students designed baskets from a list of materials in order to transport strawberries to an assisted living home.
Students explored the concepts of sink and float through the book Where the Wild Things Are. They created a vessel that could float and help Max bring a "wild thing" home.
Students planted carrot seeds as part of their PBL to donate to the local assisted living facility along with recipe cards.

Students worked in the spring to plant and harvest strawberries for a local nursing home. Their challenge was to design a carrier to get them safely from our school to the nursing home. These photos document the design process they followed.

Students were asked to design a thriving habitat for worms.
After the fourth-grade presentations, students were asked to draw one thing they learned about worms.
Students designed the worm habitat they will be making in Mrs. Ballard's art class.
Students visited the wormery in 4th grade and drew their observations.
Kindergarten students were learning about forces and motion. Students were exploring the differences between pushes and pulls.
Kindergarten students had to build a device allowing a gingerbread cookie to float down a river to escape from a wolf.
