3rd interdisciplinary.pdfStudents used their knowledge of perimeter and arrays to design their "Dream Bedroom." They needed to identify the sources of heat in their journals as well. They created the designs in Canva and found the area of the bedroom.
Students used informational writing standards and S3L1b to learn more about animal adaptations. Students chose an animal they wanted to research from a GA region and used digital and informational texts to determine how these animals adapted to that region over time. They wrote short informational pieces and shared them with classmates.
3rd interdisciplinary.pdfWorking in groups students discussed different types on pollution and their effects on the environment. They completed the reading station portion of these multimodality stations. They also completed the phenomenon task from GA Inspire called Water pollution.

STEM Pet Rock Challenge directions and links .pdfThis is a STEM challenge we sent home with the students. The students will find a rock to make into their pet rock. Students will create a profile for their pet rock.
Create a labeled, detailed, full-color drawing of the pet rock showing its unique physical attributes.
Create a description of five or more physical attributes of the rock determined from observation, measurement, or tests.
A story (written or typed) or create a power point presentation detailing where the rock originally came from (geographically) and how various earth processes helped to form it…be sure to tell its physical attributes and/or mineral composition.

Students have been researching animals to learn how different features help them survive in their habitat. The challenge was to create an animal that will camouflage in at least two habitats and describe what protective adaptations the animal has.
