Spook is an 8. This ma nis pretty gruesome with his big scary claws and his screaming face. If I were a little boy again I would be pretty uncomfortable when shown this card.
Danger is a 5. Why? The card level is 6, the halfway point in Yu-Gi-Oh. This is a framework for how we will judge Yu-Gi-Oh card danger.
Transform? Uhm. He has the shape of a demon, but is a skeleton. Lets assume he is a demon skeleton, plus a little for his wings and with the gross strands on him, he will be a 3.
Name is a little too long for me, and isn't very accurate (this man is clearly a skeleton not a zombie). Because of this, a 4. It is still a pretty intimidating name.
Spook is a solid 7. This zombie is clearly a samurai or something so he is spooky not just from his creepy green undeadness, but from the scary man who he used to be.
Danger is only like a 4? He has 3 stars, which means he should be a 2 or 3, but his flavour text says he swings around his "deadly sword" with "devastating force". So obviously he is dangerous.
Transform is another 4. Basic zombies are a 2, but we got some bone showing on his right arm, and he looks a little like an undersea zombie and I like the variety.
Name is a 2. Lame but not a lie. I would have gone with something like Zombie Samurai, or Zombie Kenshi. Give it some spice Yugioh.
Spook is certainly a 9. This tall guy is a very unique design for what is described as a zombie. I like him.
Danger is a 5 lets say. He has no stars but seems to have an intense ability. (I have never played Yugioh)
Transform is a confusing one. What is this guy? He is bipedal, so I guess if we think of him as a normal guy originally then this is a 10 on the transformation scale.
Name ehh. It is a little creative. Dread is on topic so we give him a 6.
This beast is disturbing. I hate the look of this card. It looks like a buffalo, or some other furry creature. I already don't like the thought of a zombie buffalo, and then we get a golden mask of a human face on the poor thing. Just not my thing. 8/10
Danger is low. This creature is basically summon fodder so you can bring out a more powerful creature. 2/10
If we consider it a buffalo, (as I do) then this is a 2. We cannot see any moulted flesh, any bone protruding, just a buffalo in a mask.
The name, Beast of the Pharaoh, would originally cause me to think of something like Ammit, the creature that eats the hearts of the guilty in Egyptian religion. Instead, we get the buffalo. 8 for effort.
Yu-Gi-Oh Cards remain extremely freaky. This blue, radiant being is pure horror, and an extremely creative and cool design.
He is a 4 star card, and as such should be around the 1/3rd area of our chart, around a 2 or 3, but his ability to resurrect other undead that have fallen means that I think it gets a 5.
The transformation is hard to tell, again following a Yu-Gi-Oh pattern. There are a total of 3 "Oni" cards that I could find, all being different colors of this form. While they are all still considered zombies, I would suspect their non undead form to be similar to this, perhaps lacking the color that they would adopt in undeath. As such, they will receive a 2 in transformation.
Blue-Blooded Oni is the scariest name of the Oni cards, and will receive a 10 for the name. Blue Blood is often considered cold and dead, and an Oni has always been a very cool name for a monster.
The Blue Eyed Silver Zombie is on the higher mid level of spook, as this creature is certainly spooky, but also looks just really weird. What kind of eye is that? Why is it so big and in its mouth? Why the Rayman hands?
Danger is quite low as this zombie has no special abilities, low rank, and low stats.
Transform however is quite high! That eyeball either is not his or has grown massively, the Rayman hands are a piece of work, and it looks like random bat wings have sprouted out of its head!
The name Blue Eyed Silver Zombie is clearly similar to the well known card Blue Eyes White Dragon, however while that card is good and powerful, this card is weak and tiny. The name doesn't fit well, but is decent nonetheless.
Bone Crusher exists as a pair, both the viking skeleton, and dog duo you see before you. These guys get a pretty high spook, mostly due to the dog aspect, however the eye patched viking skeleton with his big bone club is also pretty spooky.
With only 4 stars, low defence, and a weak ability, Bone Crusher receives only a 3 in danger.
The transformation seems like that of a basic skeleton as they seem like average skeletons with clothes. Clothes will not add to the transformation aspect.
Bone Crusher is rather simple, but it has a certain charm to it. I think when encompassing both the dog, and the viking, the name becomes more interesting, and so I think of it as an 8.
So this looks like a skeletal rat, which means it does have a special place in my heart for being a skeleton, but it also does look pretty timid. A 3 for spook.
This rat is such a weird card. If you decide to flip it, you special summon three Chewbone JR Tokens to the OPPONENT'S SIDE in defence position. What? Why would you want to do this? I am sure there is a reason but it does seem niche and literally gives the opponent 3 mini Chewbones. Danger is a 1.
Transformation is a 3 as Chewbone is more than simply a rat's skeleton, showing glowing red eyes, red crescent ears, and a red orb in his throat.
The name is charming but also very lazy. Chewbone gets a 4.
Same look, same rank as poppa Chewbone.
Actually deals 1/3rd the damage but has the same defence. Rare 0 for danger.
Same transformation, same rank as poppa Chewbone.
Chewbone Jr does suffer the curse of being the title of another undead with some suffix attached which often times I hate, but Chewbone Jr actually gives it more character so we are bumping it up a point.
This round clown is almost painful to look at. His eyes like a snake, his jaw open with lines of teeth, and his plump saggy body covered in patches and spots. Very spooky, like a thing out of someone's nightmare.
This clown is, unsurprisingly, a joke. With no extra abilities, low attack and literally zero defence, he is nothing more than creepy cannon fodder.
Assuming the clown was once a man, it has a decent amount of transformation. The snake-like characteristics are the most apparent, but it seems as though its costume has combined with its body in a sick fusion.
What a boring name. It is accurate, but has no creativity. Exactly on par with Armored Zombie.
An incredibly daunting, haunting horseman with eyes of red matching his steed. I find this to be an incredibly intimidating undead, and will give him a 9, as he isn't especially spooky, but does look very powerful.
Conquistador of the Golden Land is both a trap card and a monster card. On its own, the Conquistador isn't especially powerful as an attacking monster, having only 500 attack points, but his defence is decent, at 1800, and when combo-ed with Eldlitch, the Golden Lord, he can destroy any one face up card on the field. A 5 in danger, to acknowledge his combo power, but also take his single weakness into effect.
He looks to be a man riding a horse, so from the transformation from a normal man, I would say only a 3. The wispy surroundings and red eyes are not a high change.
Come on. You know this is a fantastic name. Up there with the best of them, Conquistador of the Golden Land gets a 10.
Sharks are already scary. Zombie sharks? An 8.
Not very tough. No special abilities, middling stats. 4.
A 3? The transform is very minute.
Corroding Shark gets a 4. Corroding is a interesting enough word to save this from being a 1.
This Sci-Fi looking vampire knight has conventional vampire attributes (pale skin, red eyes) but is also clad in medieval armor and wields a large black blade. 8/10
Crimson Knight Vampire Bram is quite dangerous! He has 0 defence points, meaning if attacked in defence position he is done for, but he has 2500 attack points, is able to summon enemy undead from the graveyard, and revive himself when killed. 7/10
Assuming Bram is meant to be modelled after a normal human, his transform would be around a 4/10. He has some clear inhuman traits like the skin and eyes mentioned earlier, along with the sickly green hair.
Crimson Knight Vampire Bram is a bit of a mouthful, but I find it to be extremely enjoyable. Crimson is a color tied tightly to blood, and so it fits well with the Vampire theme, but what I love most of all is that his name is Bram, like Bram Stoker, the father of all vampires. 8/10.
Yowza. Decayed Commander is extremely creepy. Glowing red eyes beneath decaying samurai garb, the demonic mouth and intense red aura to the card, easily a 9 for spook.
Decayed Commander also keeps up the spooky look with some devastating abilities. If he is normally summoned in the game, he can also summon a Zombie Tiger with him, and when he deals direct damage to the opponent, they must discard a random card from their hand. Despite some middling stats, the danger of this card is quite high. 8/10.
Transform is, as always, hard to determine. It isn't clear if the bestial mouth is natural, or simply armor, or if it is a result of the undead transformation, so we have little to go on. It seems as though they are intended on being a man, so the red eyes add a little, but beyond that, there are no visible changes. 2/10
Decayed Commander is a little bit of a letdown for his both intense and simplistic design, but it isn't the absolute worst. Let's say a 4/10 and leave it at that.
A card that makes me question whether kids could handle Yu-Gi-Oh, the Doomkaiser Dragon looks to be built from human muscle forms, along with bony vulture wings, and a spiny exoskeleton. Like something dreamed up in a dark nightmare. 9/10.
The danger of the Doomkaiser relies somewhat on its ability to summon a zombie to help it from the opponents graveyard, however, this relies on the opponent having a zombie in their graveyard. So unless one can force a zombie there, Doomkaiser is fairly middling with stats. 5/10.
Because there is clearly a human muscle structure in the belly of this beast, I will give them a 7 in transform.
The name Doomkaiser comes from, obviously doom, and kaiser, the German word for Emperor. Doom Emperor Dragon is a pretty crazy cool name and will get an 8.
Assault mode brings Doomkaiser Dragon into Eldritch nightmare territory with a large skull and arms coming from its stomach, and the dragon head remaining. 10/10 spook.
The danger of Assault Mode is heightened both by increased stats, along with reviving all zombie monsters in both the opponent, and the player's graveyards to give a strong sweep to the enemy. 8/10 danger.
The transform will be further heightened from their original mode to an 8, as what was once a faint humanoid shape, is now a clear demonic skull. 8/10.
Finally Assault Mode attached to the name detracts it for me slightly, making it seem more like a cyborg than an undead demon. 7/10.
Doomking Balerdroch is on par with Doomkaiser Dragon in spook, this being a 10/10. Much like Doomkaiser, Doomking is a Eldritch monstrosity of snakes, bone and gold. Truly a nightmarish creature that gives off the feeling of a deep space horror.
The danger is very high as well. Balerdroch is able to return from the grave time and time again, negate the effects of other monsters, or banish creatures to the shadow realm. With high stats to go along with such devastating abilities, Doomking Balerdroch will rank as a 9/10 in danger.
Transform is once again challenging. While there is clear humanoid and prehistoric skulls adorned atop him, it seems as though these serve as some sort of armor, while the snake tail and muscled, black skin is their true form. Because of this theory of a lot of the design being armor, I will give Doomking a 6. It isn't as intense and complicated a design as Doomkaiser, but still is confusing to understand.
10/10. Doomking Balerdroch is just wonderful and I love it.
The Dragon Zombie is quite the step down in intensity from the Doomkaiser or Doomking. That being said, it has an interesting, very horizontal look to it that is not seen in many dragons, and features open wounds signifying its status as undead. 6/10 spook.
Danger is very low. With no special abilities, no defence points, and only 1600 attack points, Dragon Zombie is only a 3/10 in danger. Just for the corrosive breath.
Transform we will say is a 1 for the wounds it now lives with as there is no living analogue to compare properly to.
Dragon Zombie should be Zombie Dragon, and even then its lame. 1/10.
Dragonecro Nethersoul Dragon is quite the looker. A very humanoid shape for a dragon, but the disturbing muscly frame and armored appendages make them a haunting figure. 8/10.
Danger is a 9. Not only is this monster extremely strong, but every monster it fights, it saps all their attack power, and creates a dark clone of them. Incredibly strong.
Transform will be a 10 and here is why. Dragonecro Nethersoul Dragon is a fusion monster, meaning it is formed from 2 other monsters, in this case 2 zombie monsters. Therefore. Dragonecro could be any normal zombie monsters put together, and due to the large breadth of zombie monsters, a 10 for them.
Name is garbage trash it. Redundant due to no colon. Just use a colon Yu-Gi-Oh. Dragonecro : Nethersoul Dragon is actually pretty cool. But all together? Ew. 2/10.
