This week we look at the repatriate Sam Porter Bridges of Death Stranding, played by Norman Reedus.
Sam is the main, and playable character of Death Stranding, Hideo Kojima's mind-melding walking simulator. While various effects can come from his biology, Sam himself is a fairly passive character who rarely even attempts to intimidate. 2/10 spook.
Danger of Sam is also minimal. While there is combat at times, it is often difficult in anything more than a 1 v 1 scenario. 3/10 Danger.
Transform will be a 1. While there are effects to the blood and other bodily fluids of a repatriate, the image of Sam remains the same.
Sam Porter Bridges is a 2/10 name. However, he is also referred to as a repatriate, which is one of the coolest words I have ever heard. It means a person who has been repatriated or returned to their country, and the significance of this to Death Stranding's story is incredible, the idea of this being a term for an undead is creative in a way I can't even conceive of. So 8/10 will be the rank given, held back only by Hideo Kojima's strange character naming routine.
