Applied Graphic Design & Multimedia

This class explores the practical application of computer graphics and digital visualization as it applies to various scientific disciplines. Using industry-standard graphic design programs, students apply the principles of design acquired in Visual Communications to observe, deconstruct, analyze and explain the mysteries of our universe and the natural world. Students research, plan, create and present models, visual guides and infographics that clarify difficult scientific, technological, engineering, and mathematical concepts. Students recognize that Computer graphics and graphic design play an essential and exciting role in disciplines beyond advertising and publicity. While students develop practical skills that can lead to a career in Graphic Design specifically, they also gain extensive technical knowledge transferable to any other profession.
