This class explores the practical application of computer graphics and digital visualization as it applies to various scientific disciplines. Using industry-standard graphic design programs, students will apply the principles of design acquired in Visual Communications to observe, deconstruct, analyze and explain the mysteries of our universe and the natural world. Students will research, plan, create and present models, visual guides and infographics that clarify difficult scientific, technological, engineering, and mathematical concepts. Students will recognize that Computer graphics and graphic design play an essential role in exciting disciplines beyond advertising and publicity. While students will definitely develop practical skills that can lead to a career in Graphic Design specifically, they will also gain extensive technical knowledge that can be transferable to any other profession.
