Mandarin Speakers Shield

The Mandarin Speakers Shield is a rugby union derby contested between Shing Jea Islanders and Hans in the Ruck. Although it appears civil by name, this contest is defined by who has the legitimate claim to the Chinese kingdom.

History

Many years ago, there were no islanders. The team was not Shing Jea Islanders, but the Canthan Crazy Gang, who happily resided on the Chinese mainland. However, the rise of dynasty tryhards like Hans in the Ruck forced the humble Canthans to fester on the island, Shing Jea, just off the south coast of China.

It is rumoured that Shing Jea must win 3 times in a row against Hans in the Ruck to be recognised as the heirs to the Chinese throne, and force the invasive Han dynasty back over the Gobi Desert.
