Once celebrated as brilliant scientists and pioneers of progress, the Inventors have long since abandoned their humanity. Through relentless self-experimentation and gradual replacement of flesh with machinery, they transformed themselves into metallic mockeries of humanoid life. Today, the only biological remnant of their former bodies is the brain—suspended in a transparent, fluid-filled tank where the head once was.

Cold logic has replaced empathy. To the Inventors, organic life is flawed, inefficient, and in desperate need of “improvement.” They roam the seas aboard their self-constructed steampunk vessel, abducting living beings and subjecting them to forced augmentation. Every creature they encounter is either a future experiment—or raw material.

Their mechanical bodies allow them to survive in extreme conditions, while their intellect enables them to deploy gadgets, traps, and modified constructs with terrifying precision. Facing an Inventor means confronting a mind that has forgotten morality entirely, driven only by curiosity and control.
