We have seen:
1 day with the Lord = 1,000 years (2 Peter 3:8)
6,000 years → history of sin
1,000 years → Sabbath rest (Revelation 20)
👉 This shows: God works in measured time
Now the question is:
👉 How do we relate to God’s time… personally?
God established a principle:
10% of increase → belongs to Him (Leviticus 27:30)
But beyond money:
👉 God also desires time with His people
Let us calculate:
1 day = 24 hours = 1,440 minutes
10% of a day = 2.4 hours ≈ 2 hours 24 minutes
👉 This becomes a spiritual benchmark:
A daily portion intentionally set aside for God
While the Bible does not command an exact “2.4 hours,”
it clearly teaches set, dedicated time with God.
Psalm 55:17
“Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray…”
Daniel 6:10
Daniel prayed three times a day
Mark 1:35
Jesus rose “a great while before day” to pray
👉 These show:
Regular, structured communion with God
Not casual or occasional
From Ellen G. White:
“Consecrate yourself to God in the morning; make this your very first work.”
— Steps to Christ, p. 70
“We must individually hear Him speaking to the heart… When every other voice is hushed… we shall hear His voice.”
— The Desire of Ages, p. 363
👉 The emphasis is clear:
Time must be intentional
Time must be daily
Time must be personal
We are living near:
👉 The close of the 6,000 years
Meaning:
Judgment is progressing
The sealing work is ongoing
The Loud Cry is near
“Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but He revealeth His secret unto His servants…”
👉 How will we hear Him?
Only by spending time with Him
Let us compare:
24 hours daily
Much spent on:
Work
Food
Devices
Entertainment
👉 ~2 hours and 24 minutes
What does God give in return?
“It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed… they are new every morning.”
“Draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you.”
👉 You give time
👉 God gives:
Mercy
Grace
Power
Transformation
📖 John 15:5
“He that abideth in Me… bringeth forth much fruit.”
👉 Time with God = abiding
Weak connection
No fruit
Strong connection
Spiritual growth
Victory over sin
In these last days:
Intellectual belief is not enough
Occasional devotion is not enough
👉 God is preparing a people who:
Reflect Christ fully
Are sealed (Revelation 7)
Stand without mediator
“The time of trouble… requires a faith that can endure weariness, delay, and hunger…”
— The Great Controversy, p. 621
👉 That kind of faith is built daily
You may present this as a guide:
Prayer
Bible study
Meditation
Short prayer
Reflection
Review of the day
Thanksgiving
Surrender
👉 Total aim: deep, consistent communion
God works in prophetic time (1,000 years as a day)
God invites us into daily time (24 hours)
God asks a portion (10%)
God gives eternal life in return
Beloved,
If God can give:
His Son
His Spirit
His mercy every day
👉 Can we not give Him a portion of our time?
“Seek the Lord, till He come and rain righteousness upon you.”
The closer we come to the end of time,
the more time we must spend with the Eternal One.
For only those who abide in Him daily
will stand in Him eternally.
