We affirm:
The Bible as the supreme authority
The writings of Ellen G. White as the Spirit of Prophecy
The Three Angels’ Messages of Revelation 14
The added power of the Fourth Angel of Revelation 18
We deny:
Any spirit of rebellion
Any separation from the foundational pillars of Adventism
Any teaching contrary to Scripture and the Testimonies
“And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory…”
This angel:
Comes after the Three Angels (Rev. 14)
Brings additional light
Calls God’s people to purification
Exposes corruption within Babylon
Ellen White confirms:
“This scripture points forward to a time when the announcement of the fall of Babylon, as made by the second angel of Revelation 14, is to be repeated, with the additional mention of the corruptions which have been entering the various organizations that constitute Babylon…”
— The Great Controversy, p. 603
This proves:
Revelation 18 is future from 1844
It contains added light
It exposes corruption
Noah → Message to antediluvians
Elijah → Reformation in Israel
John the Baptist → Reform before Christ
1888 Message → Righteousness by Faith revival
God always sends reform before deliverance.
Ellen White writes:
“When the Lord has a special message for His people, He gives it through a chosen instrument.”
— Selected Messages, Book 1, p. 21
This establishes a principle:
God uses instruments.
Messages often come unexpectedly.
Leaders often initially resist them.
No.
Consider:
Jeremiah opposed by priests
Christ rejected by Sanhedrin
1888 message resisted by leaders
Ellen White states clearly:
“We have many lessons to learn, and many, many to unlearn. God and heaven alone are infallible.”
— Selected Messages, Book 1, p. 37
And further:
“There is to be no change in the general features of our work, but it is to be made more efficient… There are those who will depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits.”
— Selected Messages, Book 2, p. 390
Leadership structure is not infallible. Truth is tested by Scripture — not by majority vote.
Peter says:
“I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things, though ye know them, and be established in the present truth.” (2 Peter 1:12)
Present Truth means:
Truth applicable to a specific time
Progressive light
Not new foundation — but advanced application
Ellen White affirms progressive light:
“The path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.”
— Testimonies, Vol. 5, p. 706
Yes.
Ellen White writes:
“Study the 9th chapter of Ezekiel. These words will be literally fulfilled…”
— Letter 106, 1909 (Published in Manuscript Releases, Vol. 1, p. 260)
She connects this to:
Judgment beginning at the house of God
Leaders failing to sigh and cry
This shows:
A purification precedes the Loud Cry
Judgment begins internally
Christ said:
“Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.” (Matt. 10:34)
Truth separates wheat from tares.
Ellen White warns against false offshoots — but also warns against rejecting light:
“When new light is presented to the church, it is perilous to shut yourselves away from it… Why do not you investigate the Scriptures?”
— Counsels to Writers and Editors, p. 35
Investigation is required — not immediate condemnation.
Authority is biblical only when aligned with truth.
Acts 5:29:
“We ought to obey God rather than men.”
The issue is not personalities.
The issue is:
Is the message Biblical?
Is it supported by the Spirit of Prophecy?
Does it call for repentance, purity, and revival?
If yes — it deserves investigation, not suppression.
Ellen White warns:
“The message will be carried not so much by argument as by the deep conviction of the Spirit of God.”
— The Great Controversy, p. 612
Therefore:
No rebellion
No hatred
No bitterness
Only firm adherence to truth
If the Fourth Angel brings added light…
If judgment begins at the house of God…
If reform always precedes deliverance…
Then suppressing reform may delay revival.
Let us:
Test all things
Hold fast what is good (1 Thess. 5:21)
Study prayerfully
Allow Scripture and SOP to decide
