Title: “The Mountain of the Lord in the Latter Days: A Vision of Purification, Justice, and Kingdom Establishment”
📖 Isaiah 2:1 – "The word that Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem."
This chapter is a visionary prophecy about the future of God’s people.
Although historical Judah is addressed, the application is prophetic and global, involving the purification and restoration of the church in the latter days.
The parallel with Daniel 2 becomes apparent as the mountain of the Lord arises and draws all nations.
📖 Isaiah 2:2–3 –
"And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the Lord’s house shall be established in the top of the mountains…"
A. The Mountain Symbol:
Mountain = Kingdom (Daniel 2:35, 44): The stone becomes a great mountain that fills the whole earth.
Lord’s House = the purified Church (Micah 4:1–2; Zechariah 6:12–13):
📚 VTH (1SR 219):
“The mountain of the Lord’s house represents the Kingdom of God… This mountain, though not the largest at the start, becomes the greatest — a purified people who will gather the nations under divine rule.”
📚 EGW:
“The church is God’s appointed agency for the salvation of men. It is organized for service.” – AA 9
B. In the Last Days (Latter Days):
Connects with Daniel 2:28 – “There is a God in heaven who reveals secrets… what shall be in the latter days.”
Both Isaiah and Daniel point to the end-time establishment of God’s Kingdom prior to Christ’s Second Coming.
📚 VTH (Timely Greetings, Vol. 2, No. 44):
“The mountain of Isaiah 2 is not heaven, for nations would not flow to heaven; it is the Kingdom on earth, where God’s law shall go forth.”
📖 Isaiah 2:3 – "Out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem."
This signals a restored theocracy — a righteous government of God in the midst of His people.
God’s law and truth flow from a centralized, visible, and organized body — His purified remnant.
📚 EGW (PK 714):
“In the last days of this earth’s history, God’s covenant with His commandment-keeping people is to be renewed.”
📚 VTH:
“Jerusalem and Zion here represent a purified church through whom God rules and teaches the nations.” – 2TG 44:30
📖 Isaiah 2:4 – “He shall judge among the nations… they shall beat their swords into plowshares…”
Peace results from the judgment and purification that precedes it.
This is not spiritual peace only, but reflects the establishment of a divine order in the world.
This precedes the second coming, correlating to the stone smiting the image in Daniel 2:44.
📚 VTH (1TG 10:14):
“This picture of peace and righteousness can only follow a separation — the destruction of the sinners in the church (Ezek. 9).”
📖 Isaiah 2:5 – “O house of Jacob, come ye, and let us walk in the light of the Lord.”
A divine appeal to return to obedience and enter the light before judgment falls.
This correlates with Laodicea’s call to repentance (Revelation 3:14–21).
📚 EGW:
“Every warning, reproof, and entreaty in the Word of God… is a call to walk in the light.” – COL 118
God's people have mingled with worldliness, trusting in wealth, military power, and idols.
This parallels Laodicea's boast: “I am rich and increased with goods…” (Revelation 3:17).
📚 VTH:
“Isaiah 2:6-9 shows the reason for the Lord’s coming to purify His church: pride, idolatry, and alliances with the world.” – 1TG 5:11
📖 Isaiah 2:12, 17 – “For the day of the Lord of hosts shall be upon every one that is proud… and the Lord alone shall be exalted.”
The Day of the Lord begins with a cleansing among His people (Ezekiel 9; Malachi 3).
Man's loftiness (human leadership, systems) is brought low.
📚 EGW:
“The day of the Lord is a day of judgment. It will reveal the secrets of every heart…” – COL 294
📚 VTH:
“Before the Loud Cry, there must be a cleansing—a separation of the righteous from the hypocrites.” – 2TG 41:16
Isaiah 2
Daniel 2
“Mountain of the Lord’s house”
“Stone cut out of the mountain” (v. 45)
“Established in the last days”
“In the days of these kings…” (v. 44)
“All nations flow unto it”
“Shall break in pieces all these kingdoms”
“Law goes forth from Zion”
“Kingdom shall not be left to other people”
“Lord alone exalted”
“God of heaven shall set up a kingdom”
📚 VTH (White House Recruiter, p. 33):
“The mountain from which the stone is cut is the church; the stone is the purified company—144,000—sent to destroy the image kingdoms and set up the Kingdom of God on earth.”
📚 EGW:
“The stone cut out without hands represents the coming kingdom of God, destined to bring all earthly powers to nothing.” – PK 547
Isaiah 2 is a prophecy of God’s soon-coming Kingdom on earth, beginning with the purification of His church, not merely symbolic, but a real, visible Kingdom.
The stone of Daniel 2 and the mountain of Isaiah 2 represent the same divine movement.
God is calling His people to separate from sin and walk in the light before the “Day of the Lord.”
📖 John 7:17 – “If any man will do His will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God…”
