AVD (Azure Virtual Desktop) is a cloud-based remote desktop service that allows agents to securely access their work environment, applications, and data from anywhere.
Agents should use AVD every day because it provides a consistent, secure workspace that protects company information while ensuring all tools run properly. Using it daily helps maintain compliance, reduces technical issues, and keeps performance stable.
NOTE: You should log into AVD every day, and log into the phone systems through AVD, and not on your own desktop.
** Follow the steps below to successfully install AVD on your computer. **
Step 1: Access the Microsoft Store by either clicking on your Windows icon on your taskbar, or typing in 'Microsoft Store' in the search bar of your taskbar.
Step 2: Once you are in the Microsoft store, you will type in 'Windows App" in the search bar at the top of the screen, and hit enter. You will then choose the application that has the Windows icon (as shown in the picture below), and then click 'install', to begin installing AVD on to your computer.
Step 3: Once the Windows App is opened, you will need to click 'Sign In'
Step 4: Next, you will be prompted to enter your credentials. Please enter your email address first, and then click 'next' to enter the provided temporary password.
Step 5: After you have entered your credentials, you will then be prompted to follow the next few steps on your computer screen to set up the Microsoft Authenticator App. (just like you did for your Rippling account, you will need your phone for this).
Step 6: Once you have successfully linked your Authenticator app to the Windows App, you will then be redirected to the welcome page as you see below. From here, you can click "Skip" to get to the next page.
Step 7: From here, you will click on 'Connect' on the device labeled "SPH" to open up your virtual desktop.
You will be opening the Windows App and opening this device every morning to start your day. (YOU MUST BE IN AVD TO TAKE CALLS AND WORK)
You are fully logged in to the virtual desktop once your screen resembles the picture below.
How to Log out of AVD:
At the end of every shift, you MUST fully log out of AVD. To do so, you will simply click on the Windows icon on the bottom taskbar and then click on your name. Once the menu populates, you will click on your name at the bottom, and then click "sign out".
