The HEDIS CAHPS (Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set – Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems) survey is designed to measure health plan members’ experiences with their care.
It has five versions—Adult Commercial, Adult Medicaid, Child Commercial, and Child Medicaid with or without chronic conditions—and asks about access to care, timeliness, doctor communication, customer service, claims, overall ratings of care, doctors, specialists, health plans, and coordination.
Plans can also add supplemental questions that focus on care experiences.
