Go on a walk with a partner and find signs as you walk (stop, caution, welcome, etc.) or look out a window for signs. Take pictures of these signs (if available) and start to consider the following questions:

Who is this message for?
What is the intention of the message?
What elements and characteristics were used in this media to get the message across?
Who would have created this sign? Would they also use other forms of media to get their message across?
After your walk create your own media (not a sign) about a message you came across. Describe in detail the topic, purpose, and audience for the media to be created. Then produce your media to help spread the message.Â
