What motivated you to study this course?
My passion for studying Early Childhood Years Education is driven by my deep commitment to making a positive impact on children's lives. By gaining expertise in this field, I aim to provide children with the support, care, and nurturing environment they need to thrive. With a longterm goal to establish my own children’s and young people's home, creating a safe, supportive, and enriching space for those in need.
Did you have any concerns or barriers when thinking about joining your course, and how did the university help you?
I faced no barriers or concerns when applying for university. I had to think about my long-term goal and what I would need to achieve that, being directed into the right direction.
What aspect of the course do you enjoy the most?
The aspect of Early Childhood Years that I am enjoying the most is learning about child’s development, and how early years experiences shapes a child’s future. Understanding the cognitive, emotional, social, growth of young children, as it highlights the importance of providing a nurturing and supportive environment.
How are you finding your tutors, and the university in general?
Frankie is great a very supportive tutor, the university is also in a great location, easy access to get to. I have enjoyed my time here so far.
What advice would you give anyone considering studying your course at Birmingham Newman?
My advice would be to embrace every learning opportunity and stay passionate about making a difference in children’s lives. The course provides valuable insights into child development, education and care, with both theoretical and practical aspects, taking advantage of placements and hands on experiences. Keeping your long-term goals in mind, whether it's working in education, care, or setting up your own initiative. This course is a great foundation for a rewarding career focused on supporting and shaping young lives.
