BSc Adult Nursing with Foundation Year
My name is Beatrice, and I am currently on my Foundation Year studying Adult Nursing.
What motivated you to study this course?
I have always had a strong passion for caring for others. The idea of helping people and making a difference in their lives brings me great happiness and fulfillment. This deeprooted desire to care for people is what motivated me to pursue nursing.
Did you have any concerns or barriers when thinking about joining your course, and how did the university help you?
When I first started, I was quite shy and had difficulty socialising with others. However, my lecturers were incredibly supportive and made sure to check in with me regularly to see how I was doing. They were always available to help me when I struggled with the coursework. Mike has been an incredible source of support. His constant encouragement has helped me build my confidence, and I will truly miss his guidance. I am so grateful for the care and dedication he has shown in helping me succeed.
What aspect of the course do you enjoy the most?
I really enjoy the combined classes that integrate both health and social care and adult nursing topics. These sessions are engaging and provide us with the practical knowledge we need to excel. I appreciate Cat’s teaching style as she balances seriousness with humor, using relatable jokes and examples that help us remember important concepts. It makes learning enjoyable and effective.
How are you finding your tutors, and the university in general?
The tutors have been outstanding. Mike is, without a doubt, one of the best tutors I’ve ever had. He is often available to meet with me when I have questions, and he ensures that I fully understand the material. His patience and willingness to help make a huge difference.
Frankie is another fantastic tutor who makes learning enjoyable and effective. Both Mike and Frankie are approachable, always happy to help, and genuinely care about our success. They make a huge difference in creating a supportive learning environment.
