Formative Work
Develop your critical and creative thinking skills, reading skills and writing skills, as you reflect on your reading, identify connections and passages, and pose questions.
Lay the groundwork for future success in summative assessments.
Create some of the evidence needed to demonstrate competency.
In your digital "Reader's & Writer's Notebook", you will complete entries using a School AI space I created for this purpose. Unlike a handwritten response, this will give you the opportunity to use "text to speech/speech to text" features. Everything you do in this space is recorded in School AI and in a Google Classroom assignment where I can add feedback and a score.
Things to keep in mind:
A reader's response is not a summary. It's an ongoing, personal, and authentic dialog with a text.
You're the human; therefore, always more intelligent than the AI bot because you can feel, wonder, and create in ways something artificial simply can't. If the AI bot is confusing, ask it to clarify. If the AI bot seems to be getting thigs wrong, tell it so and ask it to try again.
STEP 1: Go to Google Classroom and look for the assignment.
STEP 2: For every entry that you complete in School AI, please add a note in your hard copy reader's and writer's notebook. This will help me find your entry.
Lastly, when opening your Digital Reader's & Writer's Notebook in Google Classroom, don't forget to open the tabs. This will help you toggle back and forth between the "front" and "back" of the notebook.
