John 5:17
Jesus Works and His Father Works
17 In his defense Jesus said to them, "My Father is always at his work to this very day, and I too am working."
John 14:1
Trust in God, Trust Also in Jesus
1 Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me.
John 14:6-7
When We Know Jesus, We Know His Father
6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. 7 If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.
John 10:30-33
Jesus Says He and His Father are One and is Accused of Blasphemy
30 "I and the Father are one." 31 Again his Jewish opponents picked up stones to stone him, 32 but Jesus said to them, “I have shown you many good works from the Father. For which of these do you stone me?”
33 “We are not stoning you for any good work,” they replied, “but for blasphemy, because you, a mere man, claim to be God.”
John 8:58
Jesus Says He is I AM
58 "Very truly I tell you," Jesus answered, "before Abraham was born, I am!"
Mark 2:1-12
Jesus Heals a Paralyzed Man and Forgives Him of His Sins
1 A few days later, when Jesus again entered Capernaum, the people heard that he had come home. 2 They gathered in such large numbers that there was no room left, not even outside the door, and he preached the word to them. 3 Some men came, bringing to him a paralyzed man, carried by four of them. 4 Since they could not get him to Jesus because of the crowd, they made an opening in the roof above Jesus by digging through it and then lowered the mat the man was lying on. 5 When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralyzed man, “Son, your sins are forgiven.”
6 Now some teachers of the law were sitting there, thinking to themselves, 7 “Why does this fellow talk like that? He’s blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?”
8 Immediately Jesus knew in his spirit that this was what they were thinking in their hearts, and he said to them, “Why are you thinking these things? 9 Which is easier: to say to this paralyzed man, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up, take your mat and walk’? 10 But I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins.” So he said to the man, 11 “I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home.”12 He got up, took his mat and walked out in full view of them all. This amazed everyone and they praised God, saying, “We have never seen anything like this!”
Mark 8:27-29
Peter Declares Jesus is the Messiah
27 Jesus and his disciples went on to the villages around Caesarea Philippi. On the way he asked them, “Who do people say I am?”
28 They replied, “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, one of the prophets.”
29 “But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?”
Peter answered, “You are the Messiah.”
John 8:46
Jesus Says He Never Sinned
46 Can any of you prove me guilty of sin? If I am telling the truth, why don't you believe me?
Imagine if you would meet someone this very day that said some surprising things to you, that made you think and reflect on many things...And then next week, after being only an acquaintance of His for a short period, you heard Him even more interesting things...But not knowing His background you just listened to Him...Then later you heard Him saying things like, "My Father is always at His work to this very day, and I too am working."...And He was using the word Father as meaning God...What if He also said, "Do not let your hearts be troubled...You believe in God; believe also in Me."...What if also said, “I AM the way and the truth and the life...No one comes to the Father except through Me...If you really know Me, you will know My Father as well...From now on, you do know Him and have seen Him."...So if you know this Man, then you also know God...And if you have seen this Man, then you also have seen God, who happens to be His Father...And know one, not even one gets to God, except through Him...What if He told you that He and God are One...What if He told you that many, many years before Abraham died, that He existed...And He uses the term I AM, which is the name of God...So He calls Himself God, in an usual indirect way...And what if He went around forgiving people and even you of the sins you committed...What if He also said, He is not guilty of any sin...How would you feel about this Man?...What would you think about Him?...What would you seriously and really think of a Man who compared Himself to God, and said these things...And almost always in an indirect way, instead of just coming out and saying I AM God...Would you call Him a Liar?...Would you think He was a little touched?...He might have misspoke on one or two of these things, but know you see this pattern of His speaking and talks, comparing Himself and relating Himself over and over to God...
These are actual things that Jesus said in the gospels...And people had to make a choice, on who He was and did He really know God as well as He said He did...Peter was ask by Him, "Who do you say I AM?"...We personally are also to think about and answer that question...Many people think that Jesus was a wise and great Moral Teacher...That can be true, if and only if, He is God's Son...If He is not God's Son and from heaven, then He must be very crazed...Because to go around say that He is "I AM", tells us He is really calling and thinking that He is God Himself...And not just any God...The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob...THE God, the God of Israel is who who compares Himself with...
And He is a wise and Moral Teacher, so by stating that, I am saying He is divine...He could not have interacted and taught what He taught on earth and not been divine...And He was and is a Good Man...He helped many people spiritually, but also He helped people physically when He healed them...He was a powerful Man of word, teaching, and authority...He never really did anything bad, yet He was hung on a cross and died for many of these things He said above in the four gospels...And what is so interesting is that Jesus is Divine...But He never came out and frankly said, I AM Divine...He wants us to answer this question about Him, "Who do you say I AM?...
