Jesus Our Mediator to God
5 For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, 6 who gave himself as a ransom for all people. This has now been witnessed to at the proper time.
Mark 14:60-64
Messiah and Son of the Blessed One
60 Then the high priest stood up before them and asked Jesus, “Are you not going to answer? What is this testimony that these men are bringing against you?” 61 But Jesus remained silent and gave no answer.
Again the high priest asked him, “Are you the Messiah, the Son of the Blessed One?”
62 “I am,” said Jesus. “And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven.”
63 The high priest tore his clothes. “Why do we need any more witnesses?” he asked. 64 “You have heard the blasphemy. What do you think?”
They all condemned him as worthy of death.
How popular is it today, to be called a servant, or even be called a follower?...We often want to do things our way...Followers do not seem very popular today...And to called a servant, how does that sound?...But, Paul says he followed Jesus, and used Him as his example for living...Jesus ask His disciples to "Come, follow Me and I will send you out to fish for people."...At once they left their nets and their boat and followed Him...Paul is now a Saint, and the eleven disciples that stood with Him and followed Him are also Saints...
The Psalmist wrote His word is the lamp for our feet, and the Light we need to walk to walk the path of life...There are so many paths to choose from in life...Everywhere we turn we can go this way and we can go that way...
If we need a reason to be one of His servants and a follower, there are many...Jesus was sent by God to and for us...He is the Messiah and Son of the Blessed One...He is the only way to His Father...He is our mediator to God...He is the only Man under heaven, to which we can be saved...He paid the ransom for our sins and died on the cross at the perfect time in God's Plan...He will come again in His Second Advent, and return on the clouds of heaven...Since He overcame death, He still lives after His resurrection, sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One...He is the key to our eternal life...
Jesus followed God's plan, did God's will, and took the steps on earth that was planned for Him by His Father...We should do our best to follow Him in this life, in our own death, and into the eternal world of heaven, where He now lives...
