I got my handstand at 40, after practicing it for three years. While some master it quickly, others struggle. The journey was rewarding, but the goal elusive. Initially, I thought I nailed it when felt that fleeting moment of weightlessness during kickup. Progressing, I realized there's more to it. On a good day now, I hit a 60-second hold.
Now, my new goal is mastering the one-arm handstand (OAHS). Handstanding led me to communities like Yoga, Aerial Yoga, and Acro-yoga, enriching me. Practicing inversions allowed my soul to express itself.
Learning as an adult lets me share struggles and insights. With hindsight, I guide others on practices that expedite progress. There's no substitute for consistent practice. To master a handstand, you must persist. A supportive community is crucial.
Join me in the handstand community, where we share journeys and work towards experiencing the world from an upside-down perspective.
