Session Title
Reclaim Your Movement! A community practice to help heal your relationship to your body
Session Description
In desi culture, women are rarely encouraged to cultivate a healthy relationship to movement. As a result, movement is viewed only as a means to lose weight instead of a space for play, pleasure and community. In this session we will focus on reclaiming our relationship to our bodies. We will start with a listening circle where we will discuss the negative impacts of diet culture and body related shame. Participants will then be guided through a 30 minute hatha yoga practice where we will move together in community. This practice is suitable for all levels. Those who wish to integrate the practice into their daily lives will be emailed a pdf of the flow with clear instructions and any modifications they may require.
