Be it ordained by the Board of Health of the Township of Gloucester, in the County of Camden and State of New Jersey, as follows:

§ 94-1. Permit required.

It shall be unlawful to keep or maintain any pig or pigs, hogs or swine in the Township of Gloucester without first obtaining a permit therefor from the Board of Health of said Township.

§ 94-2. Prohibited locations.

No pig or pigs, hogs or swine of any character or description shall be kept, maintained, raised or bred in any residential area or any part or section of the Township of Gloucester laid out in building lots or any place or plan of building lots duly filed with the Regis­ter of Deeds of Camden County or with the Township of Gloucester.

§ 94-3. Piggeries prohibited.

It shall be unlawful to keep or maintain a piggery as hereinafter defined within the Township of Gloucester. For the purposes of this ordinance, a piggery is defined to be the keeping of twenty-five (25) or more pigs or swine.

§ 94-4. Feeding restrictions.

No pig or pigs, hogs or swine of any character or description shall be fed table slop, garbage or offal brought from without the premises where they are kept.

§ 94-5. Confinement of pigs.

All pigs, hogs or swine authorized to be kept or maintained under the terms of this ordinance in the Township of Gloucester shall be confined in an area owned or controlled by the licensee hereunder, and said area, pens, feeding platforms shall be kept clean and in a sanitary condition at all times.

§ 94-6. Violations and penalties.

Each and every person, firm, corporation or partnership violating any of the provisions of this ordinance, shall, upon con­viction thereof before a court of competent jurisdiction, be subject to a fine of not more than five hundred dollars ($500.) or imprison­ment of not more than ninety (90) days, or both such penalties, as the court in its discretion may deem just, but not exceeding the maximum herein stated.

§ 94-7. Inconsistent ordinance repealed.

All ordinances or parts of ordinances inconsistent herewith be and the same are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency only.

94-8. When effective.

This ordinance shall take effect upon its publication after final passage as provided by law.
