ARTICLE I

§ 57-1. Short Title

This Ordinance shall be known and cited as: "Gloucester Township

General License and Permit Ordinance."

§ 57-2. Payment of Taxes As Condition For License and Permit

Except as herein provided it shall be a condition for the issuance or renewal of any license or permit issued by, or requiring the approval of the Township of Gloucester, that an applicant, if he, or she or it is the owner of the property wherein the business or activity for which the license or permit is sought or wherein the business or activity is to be conducted, pay all delinquent property taxes or assessments on said property.

§ 57-3. Revocation, Suspension, Restoration

Except as herein provided, the license or permit of a license or permitee who is the owner of the property upon which the licensed business or activity is conducted may be revoked or suspended if such license or permitee has failed to pay the taxes due on said property for at least three consecutive quar­ters. Upon payment of the delinquent taxes or assessments, the license or permit shall be restored.

§ 57-4. Exceptions and Applicability:

The provisions of this Ordinance shall not apply to or include any Alcoholic Beverage Control Act (R.S. 33:1-1 et seq.). The provisions of this Ordinance, however, shall be applicable to all other licenses, permits or approvals issued by, or requiring the approval of, the Township of Gloucester or any officer, employee, body, board or agent of the Township of Gloucester, [Amended by Ord.0-89-18 on 4-10-89].

§ 57-5 Repealer of inconsistent ordinances

All Ordinance and provisions thereof inconsistent with the provision of this Ordinance shall be and are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.

§ 57-6 Severability.

If any section, subsection, part, clause, or phrase of this Ordinance shall be declared invalid by judgement of any court of competent jurisdiction, such section, subsection, part, clause, or phrase shall be deemed to be severable from the remainder of this Ordinance.

§ 57-7 When effective.

This Ordinance shall take effect immediately after final passage and publication as required by law.
