Be it ordained by the Township Council of the Township of Gloucester, in the County of Camden and State of New Jersey, as follows:

§ 66-1. License to operate required.

It shall be unlawful for any person, persons, firm or corporation to operate or carry on as owner, manager or agent, within the limits of the Township of Gloucester, any park and/or picnic ground, as herein­after defined, without a license first had and obtained for that purpose, under and subject to the provisions of this ordinance.

§ 66-2. "Park" defined.

The word "park" as used herein is defined to be any lot or plot of ground in the open air, permanent in its nature, the revenue from which is derived by the owner or agent through its rental by the day or stipulated period of time to other persons, firms or corporations for use as a picnic ground, place of social gathering, etc.

§ 66-3. License; application.

The Township Council of the Township of Gloucester, on application for that purpose, may issue a license in writing to any such park as defined herein upon payment in advance of the license fee as hereinafter set forth: all such licenses shall be issued by the Township Clerk and shall fix the place for which issued, the name or names of the owner or owners thereof and the agent in charge of the operation thereof, and the amount of the license fee so paid.

§ 66-4. License fee

The fee for the issuance of each license under the terms of this ordinance is hereby fixed at the sum of one hundred dollars ($100.) per year or portion thereof. Each license issued hereunder shall run from the date of its issuance to December 31 of the year in which it is issued.

§ 66-5. Violations and penalties.²

Any person, firm or corporation violating any provision of this ordinance shall be subject upon conviction thereof to a fine of not more than five hundred ($500.) or imprisonment in the Camden County Jail for a term of not exceeding ninety (90) days or both, in the discretion of a court of competent jurisdiction.

§ 66-6. Separate Offenses.

Each day's persistence in the things or acts herein prohibited shall be deemed and taken to be a separate and distinct offense, subject to the penalties hereinbefore provided.

§ 66-7. Inconsistent ordinances repealed.

All ordinances or parts of ordinances inconsistent with this ordinance, to the extent of such inconsistency only, be and the same are hereby repealed.

§ 66-8. When effective.

This ordinance shall take effect as provided by law.
