The scale of these models is quite significant. I'm not sure they'd fit in well in Mordheim or Warhammer Fantasy. Which isn't necessarily a problem given GW's current stance is that this is done. This makes life a bit easier for me as it means I can dedicate the minis to the game and not have to try and make them work on square bases on in other armies.
This really freed me up with them to make them truly part of the game.
The plan is to paint and base them up to match the board and tiles, and to start this I used a textured roller from greenstuff world. I bought this a while ago to use on my Harry Potter Minis, but haven't used it yet. A lot of the reviews for it show it being used with greenstuff, but given how many bases there are I thought that might be a tad expensive, so I used simple craft air-dry modelling clay. Which seemed to work fairly well, though I'm holding my review to see how well it adheres to the bases, general wear and tear of gaming, and holds paint.
We had our first 'test' game the other night. It went well, despite me getting Glaurio killed, and almost getting Cleona killed too when I took over her - lucky it was just a test game...
We played with a few house-rules and some simplifications just to get the hang of how things work. We randomised the spawn points for enemies, and put them down at their Level 1 strength instead of 0. It was getting late so we brought forward the end point requirement, and only just limped away. Firstly, those dice are rubbish! We rolled so many blanks throughout the journey... I think I rolled successive blanks with all 5 of our destiny dice just trying to recuperate Cleona enough to limp onto the blimp. But we had a great time.
We're keen to get stuck into the
Radukar the Wolf saved the city in its darkest hour, but his benevolence didn’t last. Claiming the Ebon Citadel, he surrounded himself with fiends, lackeys, and fellow creatures of the dark, forming his Thirsting Court. For a time peace reigned. Then came the Shyish Necroquake, and the Wolf found himself infused with dark power.
Sallying forth from his castle, Radukar and his court embarked on a murderous rampage. Some were deemed worthy of the Blood Kiss and were turned into vampires themselves – countless others were left as corpses strewn across the streets. The city now stands on the precipice of total doom. Are there any that would risk their lives and their very souls to save it?
